Keine Übersiedlung ohne Lösung
Wien (OTS) – Die Flüchtlinge in der Votivkirche äußerten sich kritisch gegenüber der Behauptung von Kardinal Schönborn, die protestierenden Refugees würden von ihren UnterstützerInnen missbraucht. Khan Adalat kontert auf facebook: “Wir sind keine Kinder, niemand missbraucht uns für ihre Zwecke oder Nutzen. (…) Wir finden uns selbst und mit Hilfe unserer UnterstützerInnen zurecht. [We are not child. no body use us by own purpose own benefits. (…) we can arrange everything by own self and the help of our supporter. http://on.fb.me/XQvTqD]” Mit den momentanen Zugangsbeschränkungen zur Kirche sei es jedoch immer schwieriger, lebensnotwendige Unterstützung tagtäglich zu gewährleisten.
Deshalb fordern die Refugeeaktivisten, dass die Tore der Kirche unter Tags offen und nachts geschlossen bleiben. Mir Jahangir Awan sagt: “Unsere UnterstützerInnen kochen zweimal täglich für uns, waschen unsere Kleidung, besorgen uns Handys und Computer, organisieren Deutschunterricht, verbringen die kalten Nächte hier mit uns, sammeln Spenden, bringen uns zum Zahnarzt, unterstützen uns emotional, vermitteln Pressekontakte usw. [Our supporters cook food for us twice a day, wash our clothes, help us find mobile telephones and computers, teach us german, stay here in the church with us during cold night, raise funding, take us to dentist, give emotional support, share our word with press and so on. The Caritas has to make sure the church stays safe place and help relieve some burden of supporters.]”
Die Aktivisten sind nach wie vor gesprächsbereit: “aber wir werden die Votivkirche nicht verlassen solange es keine Lösung gibt [but we want solution in Votive church and don’t want to change place without solution].” (Khan Adalat) Der vom Kardinal öffentlich als “ordentliches Quartier” bezeichnete Keller ohne Fenster mit einer Dusche und zwei Toiletten ist kein menschenwürdiges Angebot.

No relocation without solution
Vienna (OTS) – The refugees in the Votive Church commented critically on the statement of cardinal Schönborn, who had said that the protesting refugees were being abused by their supporters. Adalat Khan counters on facebook: “We are not child. [N]obody use us by own purpose own benefits. (…) [W]e can arrange everything by own self and the help of our supporter. [http://on.fb.me/XQvTqD]” But due to the current restrictions on the access to the church it would be getting increasingly difficult to ensure essential support on a daily basis.
Therefore the refugee activists demand that the church be opened during the day and closed at night. Mir Jahangir Awan states: “Our supporters cook food for us twice a day, wash our clothes, help us find mobile telephones and computers, teach us German, stay here with us in the church during cold night, raise funding, take us to dentist, give emotional support, share our word with press and so on. The charity has to make sure the church stays safe place and help relieve some burden of supporters.”
The activists are still ready to take up talks, “but we want solution in Votive church and do not want to change place without solution.” (Adalat Khan) The basement without windows and just one shower and two toilets, which was publicly called a “proper accommodation” by the cardinal, can’t be considered a humane offer.
